Patio Extension Featuring a Cantilever Slab and Vaulted Roof

When Millicent and her family approached us at Unitech SA with the idea of creating a stylish and functional enclosed patio, we saw an opportunity to design something truly special for their home. Extending their already beautiful property, we set out to craft an entertainment area that balances modern elegance with practical living.

Designing with Innovation:
A Cantilever Slab and Vaulted Roof

A key feature of this project is the cantilever slab—a clever structural design that creates an overhang without additional vertical supports. This gave the patio a sleek, open look and maximised the available space.

Pairing this with a vaulted roof brought incredible height and openness. The high ceilings and large windows and doors let in floods of natural light, creating a bright, welcoming space that feels connected to the outdoors.

A Space Designed for Living and Entertaining

This new patio isn’t just an addition to the home; it’s the perfect gathering place for every season. We installed elegant black-framed aluminium folding doors that allow for complete flexibility. On sunny days, the doors can be opened to let in the fresh air and connect seamlessly with the garden. In cooler weather, they enclose the space to make it warm and cozy.

Inside, we created a focal point with a beautiful fireplace, surrounded by eye-catching stone cladding and laid against sleek new tiles. The fireplace brings both warmth and a touch of luxury, making it an ideal centerpiece for entertaining or simply relaxing with the family.
